Selective Mutism Association
Selective Mutism Association
The Selective Mutism Association (known formerly as the Selective Mutism Group-Childhood Anxiety Network), dates back to the mid-1990s. At that time, a parent of a child with selective mutism, created the site to encourage the sharing of information and personal feelings/stories about Selective Mutism. Parents and professionals in the field joined this endeavor, and a more formal group was soon created and developed whereby it became an official nonprofit 501c3 organization. This site provides a collection of articles and resources, search features to find a treatment professional or support group in your local area, ways to get involved with the organization, and more.
